Meet Jim Abell

Jim started playing drums at the age of 8. By the time he was 14 he was playing the local and regional club circuit with his 2 older brothers playing all different styles of music. After many years of live shows he attended the University of North Texas and majored in Jazz Performance where he started to mold his style and gain valuable performance experience as well as study the instrument with the world’s best. Jim then moved to Los Angeles, Ca. to pursue a career in the music business. The following 9 years Jim became in demand on stage and in the studio with the likes of: T.R.S. (Tower of Power Rhythm Section) Cal State University Northridge Studio Jazz Big Band, John Welch, Larry Seymour, Matt Catingub “Supersax”, Mark Craney, Zeke Ziringebel, Gaylen Senagoles and  Person to Person to name a few.
